Mandy Enman Piano Studio Policies

My Responsibilities:

  • I will teach students the language of music in a positive and enthusiast environment. It is my goal to empower each student to enhance experiences that contribute to a student's personal development. I will personalize the curriculum to each student's specific learning needs.

Student and Family Responsibilities:

  • Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books and music. A piano will be provided in the studio for lessons. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. Please ask questions about home assignments so that the student and parents can completely understand the assignment and goals.
       
    Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child, please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.
       
       All students are encouraged to play at the studio recitals and participate in local music festivals.
       Students must have their own instrument to practice at home. If you have questions or would like input on the purchase of an instrument please let me know. I am happy to set appointments to meet the student and their family to make specific recommendations.

Tuition:

  • Tuition is flat-rate for each month and includes lessons scheduled in that month based on the studio calender. Other lesson packages tuition may due in different term. Invoices are sent by the 25th of the month. Invoices will reflect this flat rate, and will also list the lessons scheduled that month for each student.
        
        Flat monthly tuition rates are based on the number of guaranteed lessons in the calendar year. There will be a minimum of 42 lessons offered throughout the year, and the weeks where lessons are not held (due to holidays or personal performance opportunities) will be communicated in advance.
        

    In the case that there is a 5th weekly lesson in the month, this has been factored into the flat-rate tuition. (This may not applied to other lesson packages) Pre-planned absences and holiday breaks have also been factored into the rate and will be communicated well in advance.

  • Payment received after the first of each month is subject to a $10 late fee. Payment received after the 7th of the month is subject to an additional $10 late fee and the lesson time for that student may not be reserved for the next month.
        

  • Tuition is non-refundable and will not be adjusted or prorated for students that withdraw early or miss scheduled lessons. Recurring late payments may result in termination of the student's enrollment. Make up lessons credit do not count as tuition.
        
     Automatic payment is available for all students, and is the preferred method of payment. Cash and Check will also be accepted. However, Venmo, Paypal, CashApp ad Zelle will not be accepted. After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically on the same day. Tuition will be drawn on the 1st of each month from the method on file. All automatic payments will be run through Stripe. 

  • Cancellation Policy:

  • OWNING YOUR LESSON TIME

    When signing up for lessons at Mandy Enman Piano Studio, you are buying a slot of time from the instructor. It is no different than signing up for a sports team or dance class. Because lesson times are specifically planned and set aside for each student, a student who does not attend the lesson or late to a lesson will not get a refund. The student DO NOT get extra time if they show up late. If the student is late more than 10 minute, the teacher has the right to leave the lesson.

  • MAKE UP LESSONS

    At Mandy Enman Piano Studio, lessons canceled with under 24 hours notice will NOT be provided a make up lesson. Lessons canceled with 24 hours notice will be given a make up lesson credit for that month.
        
        All makeup lesson credit will be used for that month studio class; scheduled at the end of each month via zoom. These dates will be on the Duet Partner Calendar. One makeup lesson credit per student will be approved and accommodated per month. Make up lesson credits do not count as credit for the next month's tuition. No lessons can be rolled over to another month.
        
        There will be NO makeup lessons for group lessons.

    Lessons canceled by me will be given notice in advance; I will reschedule a lesson time as soon as possible.

  • Music & Materials:

  • Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons in general. It may not apply to different lesson options. Material will be assigned by me and the student will be expected to have the materials no later than two weeks after the materials have been assigned. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible.

  • Commitment:

  • Piano lessons take place during Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

  • When you enroll for lessons, you commit to take lessons for the entire semester. Changes to weekly scheduled may be made on a case-by-case basis each month before tuition is due.

  • To secure a spot for Fall semester, students are required to sign up for 6 weeks of lessons in the summer.

  • Discontinuation of Lessons:

  • To discontinue lessons, the student must provide 2 weeks in advance written notice. If the student does not provide one-month's advance written notice, the student shall be liable for one-month's tuition in full. Even if the student does not take their lesson time during that month.

  • Please note that if you withdraw from lessons immediately, NO tuition will be prorated or refunded after a pay period has already been withdrawn; however, students may continue to attend lessons until all paid lessons have been redeemed. Time slots will NOT be held for students that choose to take time off.

  • I reserve the right to discontinue lessons for any reason. If I decide to terminate lessons, tuition will be pro-rated up to the last lesson taken and a refund will be provided. If application, the reasons for discontinuation may be:

    - Persistent absences/tardiness

    - Excessive requests for scheduling changes

    - Lack of progress due to insufficient practice

    - Uncooperative attitude or general dislike of lessons

  • Photo and Video Release Form:

  • From time to time I use photos and short videos of my students around the studio, on the studio website, or in social media posts. These videos and posts are encouraging to other students and helpful to other teachers. If you do not want your child's image(s) to be used, please let me know. In general, the students love to see their pictures and videos on my website or around the studio. They find it motivating and exciting to think that others want to know what they are learning. The students are identified only by first name.
        
        By enrolling and paying tuition for my child in Mandy Enman Piano Studio LLC, I certify that I understand and agree to the studio policies for the 2022/2023 school year.
